Victoria, 25, is staying at the rundown motor lodge her grandparents built 65 years ago but it needs too many expensive repairs so it is vacant. Her grandmother is now in assisted living but refuses to sell the lodge so Victoria is taking a second job at the nearby Valenti Hotel that took all the business from the motor lodge and now owns their debt. Chase Valenti’s family owns the hotel and Victoria knew him when they were 18 but he left after they had been intimate and she hasn’t seen him since. On her first shift as a maid Chase sees her, they are intimate again, and he tries to explain that his father forced him to leave but she doesn’t believe him and kicks him out. When Chase reveals his secret to Victoria will she reconsider letting him back into her life and letting him help her with the lodge?

I enjoyed this story about young friends who part as enemies and then see each other again 7 years later. Chase never had a chance to tell Victoria that he was forced to leave or let her know his secret. She now had a successful career as an accountant but wanted to help her grandmother with the lodge. The author did a great job showing how Victoria and Chase had been affected by their childhoods and how it was still a big part of their lives.

This is about Victoria and Chase, who had a brief romance when they were younger, but things didn’t end well. Now, Chase’s family has bought up almost everything in Victoria’s small town; including the debt for Victoria’s family’s motor lodge. Victoria ends up getting a job at one of Chase’s family’s hotels to make ends meet. When Chase ends up coming back to town, these two have a lot to work through, but the passion between them will not be denied.

Loved the second chance/enemies to lovers type of scenario going on. Loved that there’s dual POV. These two have some major heat! Lots of steaminess in this short read. I liked them together; not only a passionate connection, but a sweet one. Not a fan that she so easily loses her values just because he’s hot stuff, and not a fan that she just expects him to bail her out. The motor lodge is gross and not cared for properly; of course people don’t want to stay there, that isn’t anyone’s fault but Victoria and her family’s fault. The debt is yours, you and your family are the ones that spent more money than you had; no one owes you anything. Overall, an entertaining, steamy, sweet read!

Sleeping with the Frenemy by Amy Pennza is a short,sweet,captivating,steamy and heartwarming,enemies to lover/second chance romance story of Chase and Victoria..Chase and Victoria had an history together when there were younger they become intimate then Chase left without a goodbye, hurt and betrayed Victoria just move on,now seven years later her grand mothers lodge is in a bad way and needs of repairs and now vacant,so to help she applied for a job in the nearby Valenti Hotel that took all the business from the motor lodge and now owns their debt..Chase Valenti’s family owns the hotel, the boy who broke her hurt, who never look back.. but again even now she cant control her feelings and body, hes like a magnet pulling her towards him and when Chace told her what really happenned in those years she cannot believe it and she felt the hurts he felt and Chase even now cannot control his self towards Victoria the woman he cannot forget and the woman who owns his heart..

I think this is my second book I recall reading of this author

And I very much liked her characters and writing style here. In this genre it's some times hard to describe or identify subtle differences that make these adult romance novellas a bit more special than the norm.

I enjoyed this story very much and the mc's Chase and Victoria had a quality about them, ( in woven somewhere in how they were written) that I couldn't pinpoint for ppl reading a review because they hoped it would help them decided it they'd read the book, but I can say for fans of this genre, I definitely recommend this story because it's worth the leap of faith that you'll find it enjoyable as much as I did, ... And I be honest I was PLEASANTLY surprised because go in in, I didn't think I'd end this book feeling as satisfied and happily impressed with it as much as I am.
So pick this one up, I rarely read a book I going in blind, but it u can this is one of those books that you'll find enjoying more the less you pay attention to the blurb or what details lol reveal in their review s.

The story is about them trying to find a way back to each other but they have some obstacles to overcome.
I thought this story was very sweet,sexy and I loved the ending.

I have to give this book 5 stars. Victoria and Chase have a love hate relationship going on. Victoria and Chase can't stop their feelings for each other; even after 7 years apart. Victoria is doing everything she can to save her family's business. Chase is bidding his time until he can make his move (sorry, no spoilers!). Chase loves pressing Victoria's buttons! These two clash head first together and I loved reading about the fireworks! If you love a great second chance enemies to lovers book with a really sweet HEA then you need to read this book! I would recommend this book and Ms. Amy as a great author!

Second chance romance

As teenagers, Chase and Victoria spent one summer together. Then Chase left without warning, just to show back up 7 years later the exact same way.
I was not sure if these two were ever going to agree on anything except for the inferno they created in bed... or the dining room table.

The stubbornness in Victoria made my own spine sit-up straight! I respect her ability to tread water, as she puts it, even when the waves kept crashing in on her.

This can be read as a standalone; it is part of the stupid Cupid series.

Wow, this couple is combustible when together, so much heat and tension from their history together. Thought the dilemma between them, was definitely complicated, but never would have imagined what that actually turned out to be. Loved the forgiveness, and the ability to move on with life, and to take charge of their future together. The ending was a little bittersweet, as there was still some things never change with people.

Cute and quick read about Victoria Parker and her grandmothers lodges that are falling apart. She owes a lot of money to the Valenti family and starts to work as a housekeeper at their big hotel across from the lodges.

But when Chase Valenti (her first) showed up on her doorstep 7 years after she last saw him, things start to change. Her hatred and problems slowly disappear day by day. Couldn’t just be his chiseled abs…😜??

Sometimes you just want an easy to enjoy steamy read that you can devour in a couple of hours and this book checks all those boxes.

Victoria is in debt up to her eyeballs trying to keep her family’s motor lodge running. Chase’s family owns those debts. He also stole her heart when they were teens and ran away with it. I love a hot second chance romance and sparks fly as soon as these two reunite!

An enjoyable page turner and second chance romance in the Stupid Cupid series! The story line is fast pace, exciting, engaging, emotionally deep, funny, and well written with drama, steam, and mention of physical abuse. Amazing characters; the chemistry between them is off the charts HOT! Definitely recommended!

I liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable even with some drama/angst. The characters were relatable. Victoria and Chase have a history. That history is missing some pertinent information. Once that information comes to light, will it change things between them? I liked how the story ended. I recommend reading this book.

Confusing; What Is Happening?

Chase left Victoria after a single encounter, years (and years) ago… but now he back, at exactly the same time as she accepts a menial job connected to Chase’s family business.

They were both characters on the underbaked, side. Because what are supposed to be “twists,” come without context, it’s hard to buy in to either of the main characters’, issues or concerns.

Well, this short story certainly packs a punch, the history between Victoria and Chase is a not a pretty one and at times I wondered if they'd get a HEA. Their connection, chemistry and understanding of each other was strong and when push came to shove, neither of them was willing to let the other go.

New chance
It's a short second chance story. I found it very well written because although it is simple, it has a few more unpredictable sides, twists, with some pretty hot scenes as well.

This super sweet novel is a good read if you are on a travel or just require a fast read. It is a story of friends which turned enemies because of a ruthless father. Chase loves Vicky but is super scared of his abusive father. He leaves Vicky snd then returns back to run her. It is a fast read.

Victoria and Chase are smoking together! The chemistry is amazing and the fact that they parted on not so good terms adds to the tension when they see each other again. I had a hard time with Victoria sometimes but them being together works.

I enjoyed this story, it was a light, romantic, steamy and funny read. I liked the characters Victoria and Chase and their banter. I found the story to be well written and with a good flow.

Wonderfully crafted and entertaining

Sleeping with the Frenemy by Amy Pennza is part of the multi-author Stupid Cupid series. This is a sweet, heartwarming and perfectly crafted story about Chase and Victoria. A very pleasurable read with some nice steamy passion included.

I had a great time reading this frenemies romance the storyline is well written and worth reading. The characters are great and engaging and kept entertained.
